Hillary Scott Says Lady Antebellum Has Weekly Zoom Calls To Stay Connected

Hillary Scott of Lady Antebellum just appeared on NBC's Songland with the group. She said the song they chose from the show, "Champagne Night" was the song they knew from the beginning would work for them. When the group heard Madeline's song, they heard a lot of great stuff in there but knew it needed some work. So they paired her with well-known songwriter Shane McAnally. After the song's transformation, they knew it was a perfect song for them and she said since the show aired, the show has received such a huge response. That's why the band decided to release that song as their next single to country radio.

Bobby Bones was curious as to how Scott has been connecting with her bandmates Charles Kelley and Dave Haywood since they're all quarantined apart. She said they have a standing call as a band once a week and from there, they've done zoom writing sessions and recorded solo versions of songs for the record to put all together. As far as Scott's singing voice, she said she's keeping it in shape by using it on nursery rhymes for her kids.

But things aren't all work at Scott's home, her whole family has been quarantined together including her parents and little sister. They've been doing "Back Porch Sessions" where they all perform together and Scott says it's been a great way for them to process everything and heal through music. While it's been good to be with everyone again, she confessed she has to hide in her car and go for drives sometimes to have some alone time. Scott has also been busy schooling her oldest daughter and trying to keep her twins entertained. Her oldest daughter's 'Daddy Daughter Luau' at school obviously got cancelled, so her family recreated the event as a family affair in their backyard and Scott said it was "One of the most memorable moments of this time."

Scott also shared in her interview that she has already done one of the trendy things for quarantine: bake banana bread. She says she baked it a few times in the first week. As far as Tik Tok goes, she confessed she hasn't joined yet, but it's on her list, especially because she says their new song "Champagne Night" will be perfect for videos on that platform.
