TMSG: Missing Woman Rescued After She Was Found Clinging to Tree

64-year-old Gayle Stewart was reported missing on February 14th in Nevada after leaving her house in the morning. The Reno Police Department began the search for her on the same day.

The Reno Police Department along with friends and family of Stewart began searching the entire area. A friend of Stewart's son began the search of a nearby cliff. That's when Stewart was found 400 feet off the road clinging to a tree. Battalion chief for the fire department Seth Williams told KOLO, "The son called up some friends to start searching for her and one of the boys just decided to head off this cliff thinking maybe she fell down there and found her clinging to a tree. He said the last thing she said was ‘help’ and then didn’t talk anymore."

Firefighters responded to the area to help stabilize Stewart. They spent about 30 minutes creating a rescue system to pull her to safety back on the road. Stewart was then taken to a hospital where she is expected to recover.
