Morgan shared that she went on a first date with a guy to get some drinks and things got awkward when he wanted to split the check.
When the waitress asked if the check would be together or separate, he said separate. Morgan wasn’t sure if he was trying to show her equality or if he was just too broke to afford the bill. She thinks since he was the one to ask her on the date, he should be the one to pay for it. She also said if she had asked him on the date she would’ve offered to pay, even still she still did the "fake pull out the wallet" on this particular date.
Lunchbox said he thinks it’s a crazy standard that culture has set that men should pay for women on dates. Bobby Bones thinks whoever asks the person on the date should be the one to pay. A listener weighed in and said he didn’t think it was a good look that he asked her to split the check because you should want to make a good impression on the first date! The advice he gave Morgan about that situation is to not go on a second date with him, which she agreed that she is not.
