In real time, Lunchbox is out in Los Angeles trying to get on The Price Is Right, but things have already taken a hilarious turn before he’s even made it to the stage.
Before leaving The Bobby Bones Show, he shared some new details about the taping. It turns one of the episodes he’ll be attending is the Valentine’s Day special, and producers told contestants to wear reds and purples and come with their significant other. The whole thing is themed around love.
Naturally, the guys started brainstorming. They joked that if Lunchbox couldn’t convince his wife to join him, he could pull a “I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry” move and find a buddy to go as his partner. Bobby assumed that since the show is saying “come in couples,” they’d probably call contestants up in pairs and after checking, he was right. And everyone comes in matching outfits! Now, there’s just one small issue… Lunchbox hasn’t actually asked his wife yet. He’s nervous because she’s never done anything publicly, and what if she got picked instead of him? But now that he knows couples are the key, he might not have much of a choice.
The backup plan? The show jokingly suggested that if his wife refuses, he could ask his wife’s cousin’s husband to pretend to be his lover on TV. Bobby thinks this special episode is the best chance Lunchbox has ever had to finally make it onto the show, but Lunchbox? He’s calling it a disaster in the making. And as if that wasn’t enough chaos, Bobby also discovered that the third day Lunchbox will be there is Mardi Gras Day. Lunchbox swears none of this was mentioned when he booked the trip and to top it off, the taping time has been moved up by 30 minutes.
Between Valentine’s Day couples, Mardi Gras madness, and Lunchbox’s nerves, this might be The Price Is Right trip of a lifetime… or one he’ll never live down.
