Jennifer Lopez & Shakira Spill On Their Super Bowl 2020 Halftime Show

Jennifer Lopez and Shakira will combine forces for a Latin-fueled Super Bowl 2020 Halftime Show and the pop titans sat down for an interview to talk about the set during Fox's coverage of the game between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Green Bay Packers on Thursday night (September 26).

After Lopez admitted that she loved that the championship game is set to take place in Miami, Shakira admitted that she's feeling a mix of emotions. "I feel incredibly honored and humbled to be, in a way, next to J.Lo, representing the Latino community that is such an important force in the United States," she explained during the interview.

Lopez went on to confess that the upcoming set is going to serve as "the marker of a new time," emphasizing the beauty of having two Latino women deliver the performance. "It's the marker of a new time, not just for the NFL but for this country. It sends an important message. At the end of the day, it's about making a statement of love and unity and making everybody come together just for a moment, and hopefully that resonates for a long time," she continued.

Lopez and Shakira haven't talked about what they want to do yet, but the pair have nothing but high praise for each other. Meanwhile, an insider told ET that additional acts will be added to the show. "The NFL wants to make it a big event that focuses on Miami," the source added. "The Super Bowl halftime show will be a melody of numerous acts, performing together at times."

The Pepsi Super Bowl LIV Halftime Show is sponsored by Pepsi and scheduled to air on Fox at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida on February 2, 2020.
