Garth Brooks Performs 'Amazing Grace' At President Joe Biden's Inauguration

On Wednesday (January 20), county superstar Garth Brooks took part in the inauguration of President Joe Biden. After the 46th President of the United States was sworn into office, Brooks performed a moving rendition of 'Amazing Grace.'

Before his performance at the Capitol Building, Brooks opened up about his decision to sing at the inauguration. The country singer told Good Morning America that he agreed to participate in the swearing-in ceremony after "a very sweet ask" from Dr. Jill Biden. Garth described the performance as a chance "to serve" his country and insisted it was "not a political statement," but a "statement of unity."

"I might be the only Republican at this place, but it's about reaching across and loving one another," Brooks continued. He also shared that he feels "so tired of being divided" and believes President Biden is "hellbent on making things good."

Brooks wasn't the only musical artist to take the stage at the inauguration. He was joined by Lady Gaga, who performed the National Anthem, and Jennifer Lopez, who sang 'This Land is Your Land.'
