Nickelback Causes Heated Congressional Debate

Nickelback has become sort of a societal joke for "something we all hate".

During a congressional debate over a voting rights provision, Rep. Mark Pocan concluded his argument with “probably about the percent of people who think Nickelback is their favorite band in this country — it’s pretty low", according to the Washington Post.

Rep. Rodney Davis fired back with, “Why would you criticize one of the greatest bands of the ’90s?”.

Pocan seemed shocked that anyone would hold such a high opinion of the musical group, especially to profess their love in a public forum.

Pocan wrapped up the conversation by saying, “I will just wrap by saying I appreciate that very brave admission of your fandom for Nickelback,” the Democrat said. “That’s very brave, and I do recognize that.”
