TMSG: Dad Beats Coronavirus In Same Hospital That Saved Him As A Baby

When Adam Lilling was a baby, he had experimental surgery on his pancreas at Northwell Health's Cohen Children's Medical Center on Long Island in New York.

Just recently at the same hospital, Lilling's life was saved again. Lilling had coronavirus and was treated for it within the same hospital system.

He told Inside Edition, "I just feel like the luckiest guy in the world that I've been able to overcome two serious illnesses." Not only that, he was so grateful to be on the road to recovery after getting through coronavirus that he showed his thanks by sending pizzas and soda to the medical team that took care of him.

He wanted to do more than just pizzas and sodas. After Lilling's surgery 40 years ago, his parents created the Lilling Family Fund for Neonatal Research and the fund has since raised $500K. So he created his own fundraising page through Northwell's community fundraising website. They have raised more than $10K to provide medical supplies, paid child care, and mental health expenses.
