Tuesday Reviews Day: The Odyssey, Sing Sing, Michael & More

It's Tuesday, which means the Bobby Bones Show crew is back with another round of Tuesday Reviews Day! Check out all of this week's reviews and ratings below!

  • Bobby finally made it to the theater to see The Odyssey and walked away impressed. Despite its lengthy runtime, he said the movie never lost his attention and compared it to one of the biggest success stories in sports. "The Odyssey is LeBron James. There's no way LeBron James should've lived up to the hype, because he was so hyped, and he did." One unexpected takeaway? Bobby admitted he actually felt bad for the Cyclops! His official rating: ⭐ 4.5 out of 5 Cyclops
  • Bobby also checked out Backrooms, the horror movie inspired by an internet urban legend that started online. While he didn't think it was quite as good as Obsession, he still found it entertaining and worth a watch. Official rating: ⭐ 3.5 out of 5 Yellow Walls
  • Going in, Bobby thought Sing Sing might simply be about singing. He quickly learned the movie is named after the famous prison and follows inmates who participate in a theater program. The movie hit even harder once he learned that many of the cast members were formerly incarcerated men who participated in the real-life program the film is based on. The performance by Colman Domingo also earned major praise. The real-life footage shown during the credits made the movie even more powerful.⭐ 4.5 / 5 Prisons
  • Bobby also watched The Substance starring Demi Moore. He loved the concept and praised Moore's performance, but admitted the movie gets increasingly bizarre as it goes along. "By the last third of it, I'm just going, 'WTF, WTF, WTF. What is happening?'" Mike D enjoyed it a bit more, giving it a higher score than Bobby. Bobby's rating: ⭐ 3.5 / 5 Needle Injections Movie Mike's rating: ⭐ 4 / 5
  • Amy Amy finally streamed The Devil Wears Prada 2 and thought the highly anticipated sequel was good, even if it didn't completely exceed expectations. She gave it ⭐ 4 / 5 Collapsing Magazines
  • Amy has also been watching Season 2 of Netflix's Ransom Canyon and gave the popular drama series a solid review. She gives it ⭐ 3.5 / 5 Ranches
  • Eddie Eddie watched Michael during a flight and came away blown away by both the story and the music. He especially praised Jaafar Jackson, Michael Jackson's real-life nephew, for his portrayal of the King of Pop. "Most of the movie you're thinking that's really Michael Jackson." Eddie also said he had no idea how serious Jackson's injuries were after the infamous Pepsi commercial accident and gives it ⭐ 4.5 / 5 Burnt Hairs.
  • Although Bobby famously gave Obsession a "Nope" because he doesn't like horror movies, Eddie had a completely different reaction. He admitted he expected a low-budget horror movie, but ended up loving the writing, performances and story. "It's not that scary. It's a great movie." He was particularly impressed by the lead actress and believes she's destined to become a star. ⭐ 4 / 5 Broken Car Windows
  • While discussing horror movies, Bobby also reminded listeners that two recent favorites still stick with him long after the credits roll: Companion 4.5 / 5 and The Menu4.5 / 5. Bobby said a movie automatically earns bonus points if he's still thinking about it days later, and both of those made the list.
