Mike Kliebert, who was the star of the first season of the History Channel show Swamp People, had a unique idea for a gender reveal party that was the perfect fit for a man raised on an alligator farm in Louisiana. Kliebert and his wife invited their friends over for the party to watch as a 60-year-old alligator named Sally, who Mike said is part of their family, revealed the gender of their new baby.
Kliebert's mother uploaded the video to Facebook and it quickly went viral, amassing over 5 million views in just a matter of days. Mike's longer version of the video only managed to get a paltry 17,000 views.
In the video, Mike and friend wrangle Sally for a few minutes before opening her mouth to feed her a hollowed out watermelon that was filled with colored jello. When Sally chomps down, blue jello oozes from her mouth and the crowd erupts in cheers as they find out the baby will be a boy.
Kliebert followed-up the video with a photo of his wife and two kids resting on top of Sally while smiling with blue jello in their hands. The alligator's mouth was taped shut in the photo.
The family said that they will name the boy River Joseph Daniel Kliebert and that he is due between July 30 and Aug. 1.
