Jimmie Allen Teams Up With Noah Cyrus For New Duet, 'This Is Us'

Country singer, Jimmie Allen has teamed up with pop singer Noah Cyrus on a new song titled, "This Is Us."

The song, co-written by Cyrus with Florida Georgia Line's Tyler Hubbard, Jordan Schmidt, Ilsey Juber, and Dernst “D’Mile” Emile II, finds a couple looking back on a time when they weren't able to fully commit to each other.

"I used to push my luck. I used to full my cup. I used to be known for the dumb things..." Allen sings at the start of the song, continuing on, "I'm lucky if you're the love who got away. I'm lucky that my heart was always hard to break."

Cyrus then joins for the chorus singing, "It was just you and that was just me and it was just the way that it used to be. And we were just kids back then trying to figure out what it was."

In a recent interview, Allen spoke about his new music. "I have so many people that will comment on my stuff all the time and say, 'You're a country artist. Do this more country, do that more country.' And I always tell every artist and songwriter, 'Make the music you love. Let everyone else worry about labeling it," he said.

This isn't the first time Allen has worked with artists outside of country music. He previously hinted at upcoming collaborations with Matchbox Twenty's lead singer, Rob Thomas and Fugees member Wyclef Jean. Additionally he's hinted at projects with R&B singer, Keke Palmer, and gospel artist, Kelly Price. As far as collaborations within country music, Allen dreams of working with the one and only, Shania Twain.

Allen released his debut album, Mercury Lane, featuring the hit single, "Best Shot" in 2018. "This Is Us" is out now and can be heard below.
