TMSG:Neighborhood Creates 'Kindness Committee' To Run Errands For Neighbors

The world is practicing their social distancing and avoiding crowds due to COVID-19, but that's not stopping people from showing their kindness.

In the Old North Knoxville Historic District neighborhood, neighbors are coming together to help those with weakened immune systems in their area. Kelly Arsenault is the chairperson for the neighborhood's "Kindness Committee," although not a new group or new concept, but it's very important right now.

The committee is offering to help those who can't walk out their front door due to their age or weakened immune system because of the virus outbreak. They created a google form and all a person has to do is fill out the form to share what they need help with, whether that's running errands, picking up groceries, meal prepping or getting assistance in other ways.

The idea came from students at Tuft's University. Arsenault shared with 10 News, "It's a really useful tool to have that know that you can depend on each other to help you out through this time."

The committee hopes the idea will carry over into other neighborhoods and encourage kindness through this difficult time.
