Country Star Cady Groves' Cause Of Death Revealed

Cady Groves’ cause of death has been revealed.

Over three months after the country singer-songwriter died at the age of 30 on May 2, new details concerning how she died have emerged. On Friday (August 7), the Davidson County Office of the Medical Examiner determined Cady passed away due to complications from chronic ethanol abuse, E! News has learned.

The report comes several months after the “This Little Girl” musician’s untimely death was confirmed by her brother, Cody, on social media. At the time, it was speculated Cady may have passed from COVID-19 (coronavirus), a rumor Cody denied.

"I hate that I even have to do this, but apparently the world and Internet is a cluster of twisted misinformation," Cody shared. "The medical examiner has completed autopsy and there was no indication of foul play or self harm. Simply put, Cady Groves died of natural causes."

He added, "She had some medical problems last fall and our best guess at this point until further testing is complete is that they had resurfaced.”

As previously reported, the beloved “Oil and Water” star was found dead in her bed in Nashville by her roommate, who claimed Cady had gone unseen for days before the devastating discovery. Prior to her death, sources close to the songbird said she had suffered from severe mental health problems in addition to “bronchial issues,” leading many to suspect COVID-19 as the potential cause of her death.

It wasn't until just recently, on August 1, that Cody confirmed via Twitter that Cady had officially been laid to rest.
