Kelsea Ballerini reflected on the healing journey she’s experienced since releasing her deeply personal EP, Rolling Up The Welcome Mat, earlier this year. The vulnerable project told her side of the story of her divorce after nearly five years of marriage.
Ballerini, who turned 30 last month, released the original version of Rolling Up The Welcome Mat on Valentine’s Day (followed by an updated version with an additional track in August), along with its accompanying short film. Since then, the country superstar has had a ”completely unexpected and beautiful year.” Ballerini reflected on some of the highlight moments from her “healing journey” as she expressed gratitude for her fans “for hearing my truth, and for embracing it in ways I could have never imagined.”
In a new video, Ballerini reflected on her Saturday Night Live debut earlier this year (which was also a moment she revealed a new verse to Rolling Up The Welcome Mat’s “Blindsided”), her vibrant 2023 CMT Music Awards performance of Subject To Change hit “If You Go Down (I’m Goin’ Down Too),” a recent TODAY Show interview, her debut performance at the 2023 MTV VMA Awards last month, and other unforgettable moments.
