Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jordan Addison has officially been ruled out for the team's Week 2 matchup against the San Francisco 49ers.

The Vikings listed Addison as "out" on their injury report Friday (September 13), while safety Harrison Smith, guard Ed Ingram and offensive tackle Brian O'Neill were all listed as questionable.

Addison appeared to re-injure his ankle during the third quarter of the Vikings' Week 1 road win against the New York Giants. The second-year wide receiver's injury status was uncertain entering last Sunday's game, having been carted off the field due to a previous ankle injury during a training camp practice last month.

Addison finished Sunday's game with three receptions for 35 yards. The former USC standout was officially ruled active for last Sunday's game two days prior and less than a month after head coach Kevin O'Connell initially told reporters that he suspected the second-year receiver avoided a more serious injury after being carted off the practice field in training camp last month.

"I think he's going to be OK," O'Connell said via Matthew Coller of Purple Insider on August 14.

Addison was selected by the Vikings at No. 23 overall in the 2023 NFL Draft and had a breakout rookie season, recording 70 receptions for 911 yards and 10 touchdowns.
