Keith Urban Reveals Glimpses Of Nashville Night Life In NSFW Video

Keith Urban captured the emotional roller coaster of “euphoric, ecstatic HIGHs and crushing lows,” in the new music video he premiered on Tuesday (September 17).

Urban teamed up with Patrick Tracy — a video director who has worked with Kelsea Ballerini, Carrie Underwood, Dan + Shay and others — to capture some of those moments in the Jared Hogan-directed music video for Urban’s “Messed Up As Me.” The visual features snapshots of partygoers on the famous stretch of honky tonks along historic Lower Broadway in Downtown Nashville, Tennessee. Urban said it’s “the world between 2:45am and sunrise. It’s a time where many things can and do happen.”

“This song is about a relationship…should we call it a relationship ??? We’re calling it a relationship,” Urban decided when he introduced the song to his Instagram followers earlier this year. “It’s about two people who know they aren’t good for each other: it’s dysfunctional, makes no sense, it might even be toxic, but they keep going back because there’s one thing they’re REALLY good at !!!”

“Messed Up As Me” is one of 12 tracks set to appear on Urban’s next studio album, HIGH, along with “Straight Line,” “Go Home W U,” featuring Lainey Wilson, and more. Urban announced HIGH in June. He said at that time that the album “is the result of a prior record I started in 2022. It’s 40 minutes top to bottom, and is completely expressive, true, honest and is so much more of what I actually wanted to say when making that scrapped record. I hope these songs bring you joy, levity, some new understanding, energy, and escape!”

Urban will mark the release of his new album with an iHeartCountry Album Release Party on Wednesday (September 18). The country star will perform some of the new songs from the record in addition to career-spanning fan-favorites, and will catch up with iHeartRadio’s Bobby Bones in an exclusive Q&A.
