Ella Langley revealed the original second verse of her viral, award-winning single, “you look like you love me,” before Riley Green joined her and transformed the storytelling song into a duet.
Langley took the stage at the 1,000th Whiskey Jam show earlier this week in Nashville, Tennessee. Whiskey Jam has hosted some of Music City’s most well-respected artists and songwriters during performances hosted twice per week. The acts often mark meteoric rises in their careers, including Luke Combs, Lainey Wilson, Jelly Roll, Kacey Musgraves and many others over the years.
“Excuse me/ You look like you love me/ You look like you want me/ To want you to come on home/ And baby, I don't blame you/ For lookin' me up and down across this room/ I’m drunk and I'm ready to leave/ And you look like you love me”
Without Green, Langley performed the original version of “you look like you love me” on the Whiskey Jam stage. She and Green won in the Musical Event of the Year category at the 58th CMA Awards earlier this month at Bridgestone Arena in Downtown Nashville, Tennessee. Langley shared a video of her reaction to the victory days after the awards show. Watch her perform the second verse of “you look like you love me” solo here:
