Jelly Roll revealed his clean-shaven look in a new video he shared on Thursday (November 20).

The Beautifully Broken superstar addressed his beardless appearance before sharing his heartfelt reaction to his recent Grammy nominations. Jelly Roll said: “What’s up, y’all? By now, you have probably figured out that I look like a ninja turtle. Yeah, this is crazy. One of the reasons I’d even started growing a beard was because I was so obese, it was just easier to cover up what was happening here, you know?”

Jelly Roll, who has dropped about 200 pounds on his health and fitness journey, said it was “the craziest thing that’s ever happened in my life,” when he woke up in Australia to find out he’d been nominated for three Grammys. He’s up for Best Country Duo/Group Performance for “Amen” with Shaboozey, Best Contemporary Country Music Album for Beautifully Broken, and Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song for “Hard Fought Hallelujah” with Brandon Lake. Jelly Roll expressed “the gratitude” he felt in the emotional clip he shared on Thursday.

“Win, lose or draw, holy f***, dude. We won,” Jelly Roll said. “I feel honored. I feel extremely grateful that the Recording Academy even considered us.”

Jelly Roll’s wife, Bunnie Xo, recently shared her reaction to her husband’s new transformation. The Dumb Blonde podcast host said she’s “been with my husband for going on 10 years now. I have never seen this man without his facial hair. Not one freaking time.” She added in the comments of her Instagram post, “he will show y’all when he’s ready.”

Jelly Roll is part of the star-studded lineup of the 2025 iHeartRadio Jingle Ball Tour presented by Capital One.
