Tish Cyrus said she “didn’t ever really think I would get a divorce,” as she spoke about her split from ex-husband Billy Ray Cyrus.
Tish Cyrus, 58, and country star Billy Ray Cyrus, 64, divorced in 2022 after nearly three decades of marriage. During the latest episode of the Dear Chelsea podcast on Thursday (May 7), Tish Cyrus told comedian and host Chelsea Handler, “I didn't ever really think I would get a divorce. That was not in the cards at all for me. I was devastated. I'd been married for so long … I didn't know anything different.” She went on to share that she was in “shock mode” after the divorce.
Tish Cyrus has since found her “dream guy,” actor Dominic Purcell. She married him in 2023. Billy Ray Cyrus briefly remarried singer-songwriter FIREROSE; however, the former couple went their separate ways in 2024. He’s since started dating actress Elizabeth Hurley. The pair have been in a relationship for more than a year. Billy Ray Cyrus adopted Brandi Cyrus, 38, and Trace Cyrus, 37, when he married their mother in 1993. He and Tish Cyrus share daughter Miley Cyrus, 33, son Braison Cyrus, 31, and daughter Noah Cyrus, 26.
