Tim McGraw clarified a rumor about Taylor Swift’s wedding.

The 2026 Country Music Hall of Fame inductee, 59, did not take the stage when Swift said “I do” to Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce over the summer. The couple held a ceremony that included about 1,000 guests at Madison Square Garden on July 3 in New York City. Country artists on the star-studded guest list included Brad Paisley, Kelsea Ballerini, Miranda Lambert, Little Big Town, Maren Morris and Sugarland.

McGraw revealed to Esquire in a new interview that he and wife Faith Hill attended the wedding; however, ”I didn’t perform at her wedding,” he confirmed. ”That was a rumor.” McGraw went on to say, ”Taylor’s always been close to our family, our girls. We couldn’t be happier for her to find Travis, who’s a cool guy as well.” He hailed Swift “the biggest artist in the world,” and applauded her for writing music “to connect with her audience.”

McGraw inspired Swift’s first-ever single to release when she made her debut in 2006. Swift included “Tim McGraw” on her self-titled studio album, along with “Picture To Burn,” “Teardrops On My Guitar,” “Should’ve Said No,” “Our Song,” and more. She released her first record on October 24, 2006. Swift recently made her way back to Nashville for her history-making induction into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame, and she’ll return to Music City again next month for the Country Music Association’s milestone 60th CMA Awards. Swift said as she reacted to her first nomination in four years, “LOOKS LIKE I HAVEN’T YEE’D MY LAST HAW THANK YOU CMA!!!! See you there Nov. 18 🤠” The 60th CMA Awards will air on Wednesday, November 18 at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT on ABC and Disney+, and the following day on Hulu.
