Amy Fixes Her “Money Pieces” and Considers a Wig Life

On a recent The Bobby Bones Show, Amy talked all things hair after Bobby Bones noticed something different about her look.

“I had the money pieces fixed,” Amy casually shared, referring to the bright highlights framing her face. If you’ve never heard the term “money piece” before, you’re not alone. Amy admitted she didn’t ask for them or even know what they were when her stylist added them during a routine trim. Apparently, these bold front highlights are trending, and Amy got an accidental makeover.

Though she didn’t originally love them, she went back in to have the color toned down. “She didn’t color it, just softened the money pieces with toner,” Amy explained. Bobby brought up the idea of wigs as a convenient way to change up your hairstyle without the constant effort, pointing out how common and realistic they’ve become. Amy agreed, noting that her daughter, who is from Haiti, regularly wears wigs and has made it seem totally normal in their household.

“She wraps her hair at night, wakes up, puts on a wig, and walks out the door looking amazing,” Amy said. “It’s just part of her culture.”

The group joked about starting a wig line for white women called “Money Shots,” but the conversation also highlighted a real shift happening in beauty standards—where wigs aren’t just for people experiencing hair loss, but for anyone wanting to express themselves without commitment. Amy admitted she’s curious but still hesitant. “I think I’d be embarrassed to say, ‘Hey, I’m wearing a wig,’” she said. Bobby had a solid counterpoint: “Why would you even say that? Just wear it. We probably wouldn’t notice!”

By the end, the crew was all-in on encouraging Amy to try one out—cheap wigs first, just to experiment.
