Eddie Inquired About Being Bone Marrow Donor

Earlier this year, Eddie signed a contract with the Bobby Bones Show that said he would go inquire about being a bone marrow donor.

He had made multiple claims of wanting to help people in various ways, but never did anything about it. So he had to sign a contract this time to ensure he wasn't just trying to make himself look good. Eddie forgot all about the contract, but a few weeks back a listener called in to remind Eddie of his agreement.

So over the Thanksgiving holiday, Eddie talked to his sister who is a nurse. She told him that he can't just go donate bone marrow, there is a whole process that has to happen. He would need to sign up for the registry, and then if someone needs bone marrow they would see if he's a match. If they were, then Eddie would go do a transfusion with the person in the same room. However, she also told him that he's over 40-years-old so he can't register. Eddie went to the registration website to confirm the news about his age, and sure enough he couldn't register, since he's 45.

When looking up information about it online, the show learned cells from younger donors leads to more successful transplants. However, Lunchbox saw in searching the Internet that you can be a donor from age 18 to 60, so he thinks Eddie is lying.

Eddie says it's unfortunate about his age because he did his best and wanted to donate. Bobby pushed back on him saying he didn't do his best because he could have done this research months ago.
