TMSG: Young Girl With Illness Collects Over 2,500 Socks For Other Sick Kids

Emma Becker had a special request for her birthday gifts. Socks... but not for herself. She wanted to collect 1,200 pairs of silly socks for patients at Connecticut Children's Medical Center.

The 12-year-old wantedd to spread love to the children in the hospital after being a patient herself there for about 4 years. She has been treated for Neurofibromatosis, a genetic condition causing tumors to form in the brain, spinal cord and nerves.

While at the hospital, Becker was given a 'joy jar' from another patient named Jesse, filled with items to bring her joy. This inspired Becker to come up with her own idea.

Nothing unusual for Becker to do something like this as she's done something for the kids at the hospital very often from lemonade stands to collecting Play-Doh and now socks.
