An Illinois police officer is getting recognized for his recent act of kindness. Officer Mario Valenti responded to a call to XSport Fitness in Spokie about a teen who was entering the grounds without a membership.
Vincent Gonzales membership lapsed and he really just wanted to keep playing basketball, so he would find ways into the gym without going to the front desk.
After being warned and then caught again, officer Valenti was called to the company for help. Instead of a punishment, Valenti offered the club $150 of his own money so the teen could keep playing. Then because of all the feel good stuff, XSport Fitness' corporate office waived hundreds of dollars in fees and offered the teen a two year membership.
"For the officer to respond the way he did and turn a negative situation into an unbelievably positive situation, that's just fantastic," employee of XSport Fitness Justin Pritchett said.
