Mountain Pine HS Football Player Becomes Eligible After Getting Married

Bobby's hometown of Mountain Pine hasn't made the state football playoffs since 2010. Their team, The Red Devils, won a total of just three games over the past six seasons.

And now this year, the team is riding a seven-game winning streak thanks to a rule that's only been used a few times in the past 40 years.

After a rough season opener loss of 35-0 to Jessieville, the team went on a seven game winning streak and is now heading for playoffs. The change? A very talented player became eligible thanks to a little-known rule: he got married to a student in the district and moved in with her parents.

All of those involved ensure that this marriage didn't happen because of the team, but it worked out to help them in the end.

What a story!
