For a dog, Otis may as well be a hero of every kind. The one-year-old chocolate lab loves to play catch and duck hunting with his owner/dad Jake Atkins.
On another duck hunt, Atkins and his friend were caught off guard. They stepped into knee deep mud, hoping to wiggle themselves with no luck. They slowly sunk to waist deep and were trapped. Luckily, they were able to call 911 while Otis waited with them.
The firefighters who arrived on seen couldn't make it to the guys either, knowing if they walked out, they would sink too. Atkins suggested giving a rope to Otis, who took three trips through the mud to save not only Atkins and his friend, but their gear too.
