Lydia, a little girl from Utah, felt like no one understood what she was dealing with after having her leg amputated because of a disease she was born with. Her mom decided to adopt a dog to help Lydia through the tough time.
Except, she wasn't looking for just any dog, she was searching for one who was also missing a leg, just like Lydia. An animal rescue group found the perfect companion in Clover, a dog who had a leg amputated after being hit by a car when she was a stray.
Clover has adjusted well to her new life with three legs and she’s been an inspiration to Lydia. The dog doesn’t let the fact she’s missing a leg stop her from doing what she wants to and she’s passed that mindset along to her young owner. Lydia’s mom says Clover has been such a help to her daughter and the two girls are best friends who understand what each other have been through.
