TMSG: Banned Dog Now Library Volunteer Staff Member

Gregg Quinn, a 66-year-old former journalist would read news and current affairs constantly to his now three-year-old German Shepherd named Quaker. Quinn and Quaker were regulars at Sue Thomson-Casey Memorial Library in Westport (New Zealand) since Quaker was a young pup.

That was until a complaint was made to the dog control officer, who had to act. Quinn, other patrons and library staff members were upset with what happened so library management wanted to introduce the Reading to Dogs service.

Quaker was one of the first invited to take part in the new program so after his approval by the animal dog control officer, the German Shepard officially became a volunteer staff member at the library.
