Doctor Allegedly Took Spanish Test While Operating On Woman

A woman of Port Chester, Mary Edwards, filed a lawsuit recently in State Supreme Court against Dr. Eric Fishman and his employer, Westmed Medical Group.

The doctor performed a surgery on the 70-year-old woman to fix varicose veins. In the lawsuit, Edwards claims Dr. Fishman had a conversation in Spanish on his cellphone during her second outpatient procedure. She also claimed that Dr. Fishman explained he was taking a Spanish proficiency test during the surgery.

According to the reports,

‘[There is an argument that] in an emergency [phones] can be helpful. But this was no emergency. The doctor felt he could do both'
