Amy and her husband adopted their two children from Haiti in 2017. Although the adopting process was over 5 years long, they only first arrived in America during Christmas of 2017. Since then, the kids have adjusted wonderfully to the different cultures and are working hard to develop their English.
In the beginning, things were difficult. Amy often shared her fears and frustrations on the show and wanted people to know it was hard, but still so worth it. She was open about sharing their journey, however, there was one situation she didn't want to share.
Amy said it made her feel like a bad mother and felt so guilty that she and her husband didn't want to put it out there. However, many assured her that she is a great mother and things like this can happen to anyone.
