TMSG: Seven-Year-Old Convinces Town To Change Name For Halloween

A Long Island, New York town is changing its name for Halloween. The request came from second grader Angelica Dee Cunningham. She came up with the idea to change Huntington to "Hauntington" for one day to celebrate the spooky holiday.

Her parents encouraged her to write to town officials with her request. Angelica sent them a handwritten note explaining that the name would be fun to say and she says in the letter,

"One of the best things about Huntington is the way we celebrate Halloween. I love getting dressed up and going into town."

Town Supervisor Chad Lupinacci loved the idea and the town council unanimously approved the one-day switch. Not only that, but they liked the idea so much, he shares they plan to use the switch for years to come.
