TMSG: Manager Of Restaurant Saves Infant's Life

While near Outback Steakhouse in Abilene, Texas, a 4-month-old boy fell out of his car seat, hit his head on the concrete and stopped breathing. The boy's mother ran into the restaurant for help.

That's when manager Patricia Newman responded. She helped the mother by rendering aid immediately. Newman performed a sternum rub and CPR. Those efforts ultimately led to the infant regaining consciousness and then being care-flighted to a DFW Children's hospital where the infant is in good condition.

Newman was awarded the Chief's coin by Abilene Police Department's Chief Stan Standridge. The police department wrote on their Facebook page,

"If not for the actions of Patricia and her employees, the life of this infant might not have had this outcome. If you happen to stop in, please let her know that she's fully appreciated. Also, we want to recognize Officer Mike Wisenhunt for making sure Patricia received the recognition she deserves."
