Nine-year-old Alex Reins from Colorado is doing his part to keep people warm out there. Reins saw a news story last year about a person getting discharged from the hospital and they had to wait at a bus stop in the show wearing a hospital gown and socks. He wanted to make sure that never happened again.
Reins then enlisted the help from three generations of his family to knit warm hats for anyone who needs one. So far they've made over 300 hats and scarves in their "Alex’s Warm Hat Project."
He explains through 9 News,
“I just want to help more people. There could be a lot of people out there like that.”
