The Annual Bobby Bones Show St. Jude Radiothon took place on December 6th & 7th to raise funds for the children and families treated at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. St. Jude is a charity near and dear to the hearts of the show members and show listeners as there have been several fundraisers and events for the organization since Bobby Bones continued his radio career in Nashville.
The 2018 Radiothon brought in country artists Brett Eldredge, Danielle Bradbery, Jimmie Allen, Walker Hayes, and Kassi Ashton to kick off day one, then High Valley, Lindsay Ell, Mitchell Tenpenny, Adam Hambrick, and Tenille Townes the second day, all to lend their voices and perform covers of their favorite songs for the kids. (You can see complete performances from each artist on our Instagram page here).
Bones shared on his Instagram following the Radiothon that collectively his show and listeners raised nearly 2 million for St. Jude in the two days of the radiothon. He captioned a photo of him and a St. Jude patient saying,
"Hey friends. Together we did almost 2M dollars for St. Jude over 2 days. I didn't do this. You guys did this. The key to this for me is that this is a place that takes the burden financially off the family if their child gets cancer. Treatment. Housing. Food. All. And for someone who depended on others for help as a kid, even when I was in the (nonetheless a different) hospital. That part really strikes me. So many other reasons too, do I love the work that @StJude does. But wanted to write a note of sincere thanks. And if you couldn't afford it this year with money (we've all been there), try to afford it somewhere else with time or gesture. You know I appreciate you. But I'll never be able to say it enough. So... til we try to change the world again one small step at a time, thank you."
