Brooks & Dunn have been part of the country music scene for over 31 years. Their duo was formed back in 1988 and then the duo said they were going their separate ways in 2010 after announcing a tour fittingly called "The Last Rodeo." New things are on the horizon for the wildly popular duo. There's a new tribute album coming with the new artists in country music.
The duo stopped by Bobby Bones Show Replay to talk about the upcoming project as well as the span of their entire careers including some great stories that shaped both of them as individuals and as the best selling country duo of all time. The upcoming project is a tribute album to them where Brooks & Dunn sing their big hits with artists in country music today like Luke Combs and Kane Brown Combs will sing on Brand New Man (Brooks & Dunn) and Brown will sing Believer (Brooks & Dunn) Other artists that will be involved in the reboot include Thomas Rhett, Brett Young, Kacey Musgraves, LANCO, Ashley McBryde, Brothers Osborne, Midland, Cody Johnson, Jon Pardi, and Tyler Booth.
In talking about their hit songs, Brand New Man (Brooks & Dunn) was the first song they wrote together, Ronnie didn't know if it'd be a hit, but Kix thought it could be. Red Dirt Road (Brooks & Dunn) was an idea from Kix and they actually decided it was the album name before ever writing the song. Hillbilly Deluxe (Brooks & Dunn) was a struggle song for them that ended up being a huge song for the duo, although it barely made Top 10 on the country charts, it sold like crazy. They shared that their first number 1 party was a huge deal with lots of drinking.
With their career, comes lots of special friendships like their relationship with Reba McEntire That friendship actually started when Reba hired them to open up her shows back at the beginning of their career and ever since they've stayed close friends eventually co-headlining shows together. Like their Las Vegas Residency that started back in 2014 with new dates added for 2019.
