Shenandoah Brings Nostalgia With Stories About Beginning Of Their Career

Shenandoah is one of the greatest groups in the country music genre. They've paved the way for many groups to come after them and created their own success with songs such as "Two Dozen Roses," "Church on Cumberland Road," and "Next to You, Next to Me."

Recently original members Raybon and Mike McGuire reunited to launch a new chapter in Shenandoah's career. They stopped by The Bobby Bones Show to help kick off a month of '90s Country' Friday Morning Conversations and they shared some of their favorite memories throughout their career.

They reminisced on their song "Two Dozen Roses" and how it reminds them of Texas because at the time of the songs release, their fan base in the state was so huge. Behind the song, one of the songwriters had actually dreamt the first lyrics and that's how the song was born. The song that fans are always singing the most while out at shows is actually "I Wanna Be Loved Like That."

After two years of traveling in a van, their song "If Bubba Can Dance (I Can Too)" went #1, their first one, and that's when their career shifted. However they noted, "Our career just steadily grew, it was never like a big bang." They also had their own failures in the mix, their first single "They Don't Make Love Like We Used To" never took off because they said it was "just terrible."

While 90s Country is nostalgic to most, imagine being one of those right in the mix. Shenandoah said they love it though, that people are bringing their old songs and sound to the forefront again. They particularly love when people cover their songs like Luke Bryan, Jason Aldean, and Miranda Lambert singing at their show "Sunday In The South."

The newly relaunched Shenandoah shared a taste of their sound right now with a song called "Little Bit Of Livin'."
