P!nk Says Her Love For All Genres Made Country Collaborations Possible

P!nk Interview

You know her from her stage-name "P!nk", friends and family know her as Alecia, and now country artist Chris Stapleton knows her as his most recent music collaboration. The Bobby Bones Show welcomed P!nk to talk about her latest album, "Hurts 2B Human", which features Stapleton.

P!nk says there was no real plan for the song; she came to Nashville, Tennessee to get in a writer's room with as many people as she could. In her mind, the more creative minds around you in a writer's room the better. Bobby asks if there is a different vibe writing songs with country writer's verse other genres and P!nk says she sees no difference. She says you never know what you're going to get when you walk into a writer's room and her goal when she came here was to have fun and write great music which she says she accomplished.

How did Stapleton get pulled into singing on their song, "Love Me Anyway"? P!nk jokes that she has no idea! The two artists met a few weeks ago at the Country Music Awards and she figured "what's the worst that could happen collaborating with Chris?", so they did. She gushes that Stapleton is an incredible singer and songwriter and she was very lucky to have worked with him on such a great song.

This isn't the first time P!nk has paired up with artists outside her genre. She released a song with Kenny Chesney, "Setting the World on Fire" back in 2016. She tells Bones that she doesn't believe in boundaries when it comes to genres and working with artists. She loves Chesney and that song; she believes that growing up loving all types of music and appreciating different types of artists led to her working with such talented artists like Chris Stapleton and Kenny Chesney.

P!nk is getting ready to his the road with The Beautiful Trauma world tour. She says she has been practicing and prepping for a few months and is incredibly excited to share her latest studio album, Hurts 2B Human!
