Oliver Davis, a 7-year-old from Kansas, has always wanted to be a police officer. But instead of just playing dress up, he is already out serving his community. For the last 2 years, Oliver has been visiting nursing homes in Kansas and Missouri. He dresses as a police officer, rides around on his small motorized police officer motorcycle, and hands out flowers and hugs to the nursing home residents.
It started when he visited his own great-grandmother in a nursing home. That's when he got the idea because he saw so many people who needed a hug and some company. Oliver gets donations to buy the flowers but he's also known to use his own allowance and Christmas money. He's handed out 15,000 flowers so far and he doesn't plan on stopping anytime soon!
