Growing up your parents probably told you that dessert came after your meal. Well now experts are having us re-think that strategy. They're now saying that ice cream for breakfast is actually good for you. According to a study conducted at Kyorin University in Tokyo, Japan, eating ice cream in the morning makes you more mentally alert.
The study showed that people were told to eat ice cream when they first woke up and it showed that they were more awake and alert during the computer testing section of the experiment. Those who ate ice cream performed faster and had better testing results that those who didn't.
A few factors could contribute to this, maybe the combination of sugar and coldness? Or the fact that people are less stressed when they eat a yummy treat like ice cream? Either way, the study shows that eating ice cream for breakfast isn't necessarily a bad thing!
