TMSG: Teen Comes Back From Cancer To Become Award-Winning Swimmer

Katherine of Louisiana was a swimmer ever since she was 7-years-old. However, in 2018 swimming had to take a backseat to cancer treatment for non-Hodgkin lymphoma.

She spent her summer at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital undergoing biopsies and chemotherapy, swimming whenever she possibly could. By fall, Katherine completed the treatment, but things did resume as normal. Things felt off since going through treatment.

It wasn't until a friend asked Katherine to homecoming, and it was there that things snapped back to normal for Katherine. She started swimming again with a new dedication and while she was slow at first, she got faster every day.

Today, she's winning competitions regularly on her swim team and recently, her team went all the way to State. You can read more about Katherine, her inspiring journey and what St. Jude Research Hospital does for their kids at the hospital here.
