Church members at an Atlanta-area church helped make the holiday season a little easier for almost two dozen families.
The group was able to pay off $10K worth of Walmart layaway bills for 23 customers. Pastor Kevin Murriel told Fox 6, "It means everything to us to see the smiles on these people's faces."
One person in particular Suhwanda McCreary said it was the extra Christmas spirit she needed this holiday season. She shared with Fox 6 that her 28-year-old son Justin was killed in April and he left behind 3 kids. Normally McCreary does the holiday shopping with her son for the 3 children, but this year she had to do it alone. Telling Fox 6, "It's a tremendous help because I really wasn't able to do it because sometimes, I would borrow money, so to get this phone call meant a whole lot to me."
