Darius Rucker's Almost Finished With His New Record

Darius Rucker is fully embracing life in self-quarantine as he wrote, and recorded his most recent song drop all from the comfort of his home due to the pandemic. Rucker came on The Bobby Bones Show to share what he's been up to these past few months and share some stories about Hootie & The Blowfish.

Weeks ago, Rucker shared the song "Beers and Sunshine." He wrote the song virtually with some co-writers and since they weren't able to connect in studio, they recorded the song over Zoom too. He also shared that he's almost done with his latest record and is hoping to release it in early 2021. Besides his new music, Rucker told Bobby Bones that his most honest song he's ever sang is "If I Told You." Ironically, he didn't write the song, Shane McAnally was the writer, and Rucker still asks him how he was able to write Rucker's life without him even being in the room.

Also during his talk with the show, Rucker remembered some fond memories of his early days. He shared that the first celebrity he met was Ric Flair and he still geeks out about it to this day. The first celebrity he met while working with Hootie & The Blowfish was Madonna at a radio station, and she knew who they were.

Music isn't the only thing Rucker has been doing while in self-quarantine, he's been busy binge watching his favorite show Peaky Blinders. He has watched the show 3 times through and he loves it even more now that he realized his favorite actor Tom Hardy stars in it.
