Movie Mike - SEE IT OR SKIP IT? 'Venom: Let There Be Carnage'

A sequel I was looking forward to even though I wasn’t the biggest fan of the first one. Venom is an anti-hero so I was hoping for a darker, grittier story but they made him out to be silly and went the action/comedy route in typical Marvel fashion. The sequel was more of the same, but it dug way more into the "silliness." But once you get past the’s actually a pretty fun, action, comic book movie.

The best part was at only 90’re in and out before you have a chance to get bored with it. But honestly, some parts are just kind of dumb...but I think the movie was self-aware of that and played into it. The acting is WAY over the top and that’s coming from great actors: Tom Hardy, Michelle Williams and Woody Harrelson. It’s PG-13 so I feel like this movie is geared more towards teens and tweens. So they will find it more enjoyable than adults. It’s like Deadpool with toned down violence and less jokes.

I would give it 3 out of 5 chickens. I’d say skip it for now and wait until you can watch it On Demand. Because if you haven’t seen the first may be a little lost in the beginning. I could have even used a refresher.
