TMSG: 7-Year-Old Battling Leukemia Surprised With Ice Skating Rink

7-year-old Keegan was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in 2018. He's expected to complete his treatment with Helen DeVos Children's Hospital in April of this year.

Despite all of the things that happened in Keegan's life, his love of skating has always been constant. With his treatment, he couldn't skate regularly but it was still his favorite activity.

So when it came for Keegan to pick a wish for Michigan's Make a Wish to fulfill, Keegan's mother Raeann Elliott knew exactly what Keegan would want: his own ice skating rink in the backyard. When Keegan got off the school bus Friday afternoon, he was surprised by the Grand Rapids Griffins mascot, Griff. A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held to open up the backyard skating rink and Keegan got to have an afternoon full of skating.
