Bones shared that when Garth Brooks called him and asked if he and his band would want to open for him, they obviously said yes and couldn’t believe to be performing in front of 80,000 people. It was awesome, but Bones said he thought no one was going to care about them since they were only the opening act. It inspired him to write a song about the struggles of being an opening act when nobody cares or is there to see you.
He posted it on his TikTok and his friends, Jordan Davis and Lainey Wilson, commented that they can relate so Bones suggested they write their own verse and record the song with them.
“Opening Act,” the new song from Bobby Bones & The Raging Idiots collab with Wilson and Davis, was premiered for the first time on the show today.
