Amy put her name down at a restaurant because there was a long wait.
While waiting, she left to go walk around because they told her she’d get a text when her table was ready. As she was at the hostess stand about to leave, a man walked up and said he just got paged that his table was ready, but he now had to cancel his reservation. His table was for four people, which is the party size Amy’s was for too, so he suggested she take the table. She thought the table should go to the next person on the waitlist, but the hostess said she was fine with letting Amy’s party sit there now.
She felt bad but made up a story in her mind that the next party in line was six people who wouldn’t have been able to sit at a four top anyway.
