Jordan Davis Shares Thoughts On Nomination For ACM Male Artist of the Year

Jordan Davis called into The Bobby Bones Show to talk about his new tour, and what he was doing when he found out he was nominated for an ACM Award!

Davis received his fist ACM nomination for Male Artist of The Year yesterday (April 13.) When Bobby Bones made the announcements on The Bobby Bones Show, Davis was in his kitchen and had the show connected to the house speaker hoping to hear his name in a category. He started to get mad though because his kids were screaming and the dogs were barking, but his wife was able to capture the video of the moment he found out he was nominated. He didn’t think he had a shot at being nominated, especially when he saw the other people in the category alongside him. He still couldn’t believe it and truly didn’t think his name would be amongst them in that category. While the announcements were happening, he started to get some texts about some of the other categories. He didn’t want to find out through a text before hearing Bones announce it, so he put his phone on airplane mode.

Davis has five-number one songs and is hoping to add a new one to that list with his latest single, “Next Thing You Know.” He also announced his new tour the Damn Good Time Tour, that Bones has some beef with since it has a curse word in it. Davis said he named it that because he wants the tour to be a damn good time, also after one of the songs with the same name from his new record, Bluebird Days. The tour is Davis’ biggest headlining tour yet and he’ll be playing some major arenas, which he admits he’s super nervous about. Especially since he is going to some cities where he remembers being there in 2018 and loading into a 500-person bar. Fast forward to now and he’s revisiting those cities and playing the major arenas. Supporting him on tour is Gabby Barrett, Avery Anna, Greylan JamesDanielle Bradbery, Dylan MarloweKameron MarloweJameson RodgersMike RyanConner Smith and Georgia Webster.

Tickets for the Damn Good Time Tour go on sale at 10am local time Friday, May 14.
