Old Crow Medicine Show on if They Get Tired of Performing “Wagon Wheel”

Old Crow Medicine Show stopped by The Bobby Bones Show to talk about their 25 years together as a band, their new album, if they ever get tired of performing “Wagon Wheel” and perform some of their new songs!

Old Crow Medicine Show marks its 25th anniversary of performing this year with the release of their new album, Jubilee, that is out today (August 25). The album is a return to the band’s traditional country roots style of music, which they called much weirder and wilder than people give them credit for. The lead singer, Ketch Secor, first came to Nashville in 1998 and would perform in front of Sbarro on 2nd Ave, which is still there but everything surrounding it has changed. Secor looks back at the place where he got his start as the one thing to stay the same in a town that has evolved tremendously over the years.

Similar to their 2022 album, their new album, Jubilee, was once again co-produced with Matt Ross-Spang and they recorded it at their own Hartland Studios. They hope the album channels their high energy live shows while also showcasing their love for creating country roots music. A new song on the record called, “Wolfman Of The Ozarks,” they think will become an anthem for Arkansas Razorback football and called it, “A sexy type of football song.”

Old Crow Medicine Show has been one of the most influential bands in American roots music for more than two decades, and perhaps their most popular song is “Wagon Wheel.” First released in 2004, the song became an instant hit for them and has since been covered by many artists, most notably Darius Rucker. Still to this day, they love to perform it and are happy their biggest hit isn’t a lousy song that they hate playing and does not excite the crowd.

Old Crow Medicine Show’s 25th Anniversary Tour kicks off this weekend with Hank Williams Jr. in Bangor, Maine and will run through December 31st in Nashville, Tennessee. For more information visit their website www.crowmedicine.com.

While in studio they performed “Wagon Wheel,” and new songs “Wolfman Of The Ozarks” and “Keel Over and Die.” Watch below!
