Last year, Eddie did a digital detox, but this year he’s making his phone ‘grayscale’ so it’s less appealing.
He’s doing it to make his phone dull and have no vibrant colors. Our brains are drawn to certain things, and this now makes the phone less distracting and desirable. Everything on his phone is in black and white, including when he takes a picture, but if he took it off the grayscale setting, the picture would still be in color. He said it makes everyday life more beautiful for him too because he’s living in color in the real world and not online. Eddie loves black and white movies so doing this might backfire on him, but he plans on trying it out until the end of the month!
