When Eddie got his bill at a restaurant, he saw all the food items were listed but there was an “Employee Wellness Charge” for 20% added at the bottom and under that was the tip line.
He thought it was ridiculous that they were asking for more extra money than just the bill total and tip. He had also never heard of an “Employee Wellness Charge,” which is a fee added to a bill to cover employee health and wellness coverage and that most restaurants do a 3% charge and not 20% like the one he was at. They think it might be the restaurant trying to make a little extra money or sneak more money for their servers. Eddie did tip on top of it, but he did not feel good about it.
